Primary Care Doctor – Caring For The Whole Family
Dr. Marcus Higi has experienced the challenges and joys of practicing in urban, rural and hospital settings as a primary care physician for more than two decades. He staffed an emergency department before relocating to the American Southwest, where he served as an emergency and family medicine physician in small clinics and hospitals in the Four Corners area and the Dakotas. He then opened a solo family practice and performed hospital work in Cortez, Colorado. In 2010, Dr. Higi and his wife moved to New Mexico to be closer to family. Before opening ABQ Integrative Family Medicine, he worked in outpatient family medicine for Presbyterian Medical Group.

EDUCATION
Dr. Higi attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received a B.S. in Biology as an undergraduate, followed by a Medical Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – School of Medicine. His internship and residency training in Family Medicine was at the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is certified in Tapas Acupressure Technique, known as TAT, which is an affirming psychological process to help individuals process and heal from anxiety, trauma and other health issues.
PERSONAL
Dr. Higi enjoys the majestic beauty of the Southwest by hiking, camping, rock climbing and ice climbing. He has also written a digital novel, Navajo Gold, inspired by his time on the Navajo Nation. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife, Laura, and his dog, Biscuit.
